: Lovefool: {Goldie Bainbridge} Pt 1 :

Also featuring <--- (Darryl) <--- (Lucian) <--- (Ileana) <--- (Juniper) and a brief mention of <---- (Leif) *who will appear more in the next part*

Notes: Janus, Malachi, Schala and Darryn had the same mother, and yet.. what of the woman who raised the two boys as her own? Well this is the story of the woman who married Darryl Zeal, and who was also the sister of Lucian Bainbridge. But really it is the story of several different individuals whose fates are deeply entwined. (And in a way this is the prequel to Jenin's pair.. Coral, as Goldie was her mother)

"Reason will not lead to solution,
I will end up lost in confusion,
I don't care if you really care..
As long as you don't go."

I can't care bout anything but you... )

Another bout of Original Muse back and forths.~

We've done this before but I thought that this would be a good time to ressurect it. Basically it is letting the muses talk back and forth for as long as they wish just to get to know each other (considering that we have alot of characters that are sort of new) I'll try to cover some of the new as well as the old.. and we can just basically take turns. (I'm going down my list approxmately though. *heh's*

So anyways Actaeon Rubicant starts. (He'll use his picture in comments but for the starting post, he'll just flow with it.

Actaeon: So, what sort of elf are you, you do not see many seafairing elves around either Sylvia or Olympia, tis merely curiousity.

Title: Scoundrel Days
Song Inspiri': Scoundrel Days by Aha
Fandom: Elessari!Olympia and perhaps even a little bit of Sylvia.
Comments: I do not want to call the Valiases a villanous ruling family by any means, however in Olympia the power has never been handed down from generation to generation. There has -always- been an uprising in power, always. A family rules for perhaps 70 to 100 years, and then another family rises up in power and just sort of takes over because the truth is that Olympia is a male-dominated sohttp://www.greatestjournal.com/editjournal.bml?journal=songsofsylvia&itemid=3284
Edit Journal Entriesciety. While in Sylvia the Kirklands have -always- been in power, there had been no need for any sudden insurgances from outside forces.. if an insurgance is needed, it usually comes from in-family. (which would account for Troy Kirkland's brief three month rule before his sister surged up and overthrew him.). The Valiases are not an evil family by any means, Olympia is just a very.. political nation, but in a backward sense and with that note, the Olympian throne is a very bloody one.

| "Dreams" | Sylvia!Originals ~Corrine |

Title: Dreams
Song Inspir': "Dreams" version by The Corrs.
Fandom: Sylvia!Originals
Character: Corrine "Corrie" Graie
Notes: Sylvia's own sweetheart, Corrie. She was always a fan favorite and well in the scheme of things, she was alot of fun to play. But also I got to introduce her Guardian of sorts, Lalith Valerian, who was the one other then Kaoru who was the most likely to just knock some sense into her (and probably did). Now Corrie has several histories, but this is the base history, the one that I would use for any book that I would write about Sylvia. This is at the core the real story. Never afraid to speak her mind, and telling the consequences to go to hell, she is also the girl who is most likely to suffer from more thanoccasional foot-in-mouth syndrome, but I attribute that to her charm. Enjoy her story.

~A Bridge Too Far Pt 1~

Title: A Bridge Too Far Pt 1
Fandom: Sylvia (my own)
Song: "Too Many Walls" by Cathy Dennis
Pairing: Schala/Malachi
Comment: The Ballad of Schala and Malachi (I had to change the name from Magus.. so Malachi was born). Ah, isn't everyone in the mood for some brother/sister-cest? Okay so they are half-brother/sister.. but still, the Bainbridges are a -strange- lot and to their defense, They didn't know, that is until Janus took an inordinate ammount of glee in telling them both that they were related by blood. You can imagine that he remedied that quickly. Of course did it stop him from persuing Schala, no he never had the scruples that his honorable twin did. Of couse the Zeal twins are going to be the only ones in my entire Sylvia that are going to need renames, but they were my first creations and bear the mark of my love of Chrono Trigger. (*aside: Funny how I got the name Bainbridge... I was thinking of a last name for Schala and I looked up at my desk and saw my Merril Bainbridge CD, and thus a last name was born. I got alot of my names like that in the very beginning of my character creation.). There is also one-sided Violetta/Schala, because Violetta was always in love with Schala.. even dumped poor Eric for her, too bad her feelings were never returned. And like most Sylvia stories, this has several parts to it.

Too many walls have been built in between us.. too many dreams have been shattered around us. )

~Four Girls~

It all started wth four girls. The entire story of Sylvia in a nutshell. Before there existed the usual.. wars and kngs, fueds and peace. All of these things which made the continent of Elessari spin round and round in perpetual motion, the elements had existed though quietly, Ethos did it's thing and no one heard very much about it. And whatever was outside the world did not exist save for the enclosed surroundings of a dorm room that fit four comfortably. A room that bore the mark of the four girls who lived therein, four personalities that were just beginning to take shape in the scheme of things and yet couldn't quite understand nor comprehend -how- in the future they would figure greatly into that same scheme.

Two sets of bunk beds on each side of the room and since the room was so small, those beds became essentially a majority of the living space where the studying and talking would occur. The bottom bunk nearest the door was decorated in a large asian print spread and was for the most part immaculate, not even a ripple on the fabric and that perhaps indicated the extreme calmness that personified the owner of the bed. On the wall just touching the bunk was a few crimson fans that were arranged skillfully, all of them with cream coloured cranes and elegant peacocks dancing across it's folds. Propped up against the pole was a kendo sword, kendo because unfortunately the owner in question had not been allowed to take her real sword onto school grounds which was a sulking matter in and about itself.

The bunk facing it was just as neat and orderly as the one almost opposite of it though while the previous bed had been all dark colours, this was almost it's polar opposite. The comforter was all soft and airy pastels along with shades of dove grey. There was not very much in the terms of stuff, except for a few books here and there and a little dream catcher that was hung from rafters of the bed over her. A stuffed unicorn nestled against the pillows and there were a few dried flowers that hung up, giving the place a clean yet floral scent. Slippers were tucked underneath the flounces of the comforter, ready for the wearer to step into them upon arising and upon the bed lay a uniform in soft doe brown which denoted the rank of a Mage of Nature in training. One picture hung on her wall, that of a dark haired, dark eyed boy carrying a lute however there was another picture in a locket tucked under her pillow, that of a silver haired, purple eyed girl. Both were treasures of this particular girl.

Moving to the bunk just above the first one, now that was the surest sign of a disaster, as if a Tsunami had hit it. The bed was unmade and in perfect chaos, pillows halfway hanging off the bed as well as uniform robes, hair ribbons hung from the light fixture above her bed and taped pictures of various Trinity City idols decorated her area of the wall quite liberally. And if you crawled into that bed, it was almost certain that you would probably hit against several foreign objects that did not belong in a bed in the first place. And the strains of music where the fact that upon leaving the room, she had forgotten to turn her music player off.. and so it would continue to play until either the owner came in to turn it off (a highly unlikely occurance) or it ran out of a viable source of power.

The last and final bed lay across from the unmade one and was perhaps as different as night and day. This one was extremely sparse, more so then the bottom two had been. The coverlets of purple and silver were sparse, nothing disturbed it. In fact the bed was almost eerily untouched and there were absolutely no hairs on the pillows to denote that the bed even -had- an owner. The only telltale sign that the bed was indeed owned was the fact that there was a sprig of violets where pillow met covers.. and that was it. There were no little trinkets, no little bits of memories or girlish dreams enfolded into the mass of a small knick-knack. It was almost like a book that was waiting to be written in, the pages still somewhat blank.

The story of four girls at the Valdora Acadamy of Magic. Four women who would one day figure largely into the history of Sylvia, and yet once upon a time, they were just that... girls.

~A little about Zeals~

I tend to focus alot upon Bainbridges, however there is the other side of the coin, the Zeals. Now the Zeals are just the other side to the Bainbridges, except minus the sex magic. And yes the Zeals are inexplicably drawn to the Bainbridges and vice versa, there are exceptions where the Bainbridges and Zeals will come out to pick at the human races, but once again it does not happen often enough to become a statistic. (incestuous little buggers..)

The most noticible feature of a Zeal is their eyes. And you will know them by their eyes, in fact that is why they are not mistaken for a Bainbridge in the -first- place since they look almost identical. The eyes are changeable. They run the gamut from green, to blue, to brown, to grey and occasionally red when they are furious... this changes according to their mood. Another great little way that Zeals were put into 'check' by fate to ensure that they did not cause too much trouble. The only colour that their eyes cannot change to is purple.

I make Zeals sound like a bad sort seriously, however it is only half of them that are bad. The other half are pretty good and probably should of been born Bainbridges, it works just as equally for Bainbridges for their are half of their legion who would be better served serving Janus or something. Magus's father was the good sort (his location though currently is unknown.. though he is somewhere on the Elessari continent, just couldn't handle the fact that he had slept with his half-sister).

In retrospect there are alot of really bad people in Sylvia, the Zeals (to generalize about it) are just the sorts who are pretty damn honest about it. A evil Bainbridge will be as sneaky as hell (Schala's brother is a prime example).. but all in all, with a Zeal.. if they are evil, then at least you would have seen it coming since they cannot really hide it.

Another item of note. In a union between a Bainbridge and a Zeal, you could either pop out a Bainbridge or a Zeal. But there is never one of each. There are either two children that strongly resemble their father, or two that strongly resemble their mother. And their last name is then decided accordingly. Magus was obviously born with purple eyes, and therefore he defaulted to Bainbridge, even though his mother and father were technically -married- for a time.

Nov. 10th, 2007

When ascending to the heavens, the elementals created six beings in their image in order to set down to walk the earth, and those six would personify that element.. their genes would run strongly throughout the generation and create a line pure without having to marry someone else of their own family.

Undine (water) = Graeme/Graie
Fyre (fire) = Kirthkin/Kirkland
Zephyr (wind) = Landrith/Landry
Erth (earth) = Geo/Giovanni
Lyght (light) = Bainbriath/Bainbridge
Darq (dark) = Zelphilos/Zeal

Enigma did not create a being, he exists and merely switches bodies as he needs it, though usually the body is living so the person in it goes through periods of unconsciousness in which Nadiir takes over.

Somewhere in Cedric's line, he has a little bit of Zeal in him which probably accounts for the pink hair which his parents before him possessed. But it's not enough to affect him negatively, just down the line there is a Zeal somewhere, the blood getting diluted with time.

~Shattered Dreams~ {Michael & Stephen Giovanni)

Title: Shattered Dreams
Pairing/Characters: Some might get a twincesty vibe, but no.. it is just Michael and Stephen, not Michael/Stephen. (Can't wait to read the fics though.. really can't).
Song: "Shattered Dreams" By Clark Datchler.
Comments: Yet another facet of backstory for my Sylvian characters. Stephen and Michael, I should really just call it the Ballad of Michael and Stephen. Sometimes I wonder about this two, I also wonder if they will ever come to a reconciliation, one of those things that may happen or may not. But as it is, they went on to become shadows of what they could be, it is amazing how one event came shape you. I sort of hope that one day they start speaking to each other again

Caught up in a web of lies.. but it was just too late to know )

~Random facts about the Elessari Continent~

* The Elessari Continent gets it's name from a girl that I babysat when I was fifteen. Her name was Elessari Arnold and she was the same one who got me hooked on Sailor Moon.

* Olympia and Sylvia were inspired by several different things, in fact they were the name of countries in my 'great chronotrigger/FF6 fanfiction'. The one where I inserted alot of ocs (not Mary Sues... well okay so perhaps at fifteen they -were- mary sues, but you know what.. so what.. I still loved them.) Olympia was a country that I had patterned on greek mythology, and Sylvia was my representation of fairyland. Olympia existed LONG before Sylvia though, as Sylvia only came into existance with Corrine Graie who I paired with Magus. Olympia gave birth to such characters as Violetta Durante, Troy Kirkland and Trista Levin, all of who found eventual homes in Sylvia. So did Corrine "Corrie" Graie. Though for the most part, their characterizations changed and evolved once they seperated from their bit of fanfiction.

* Magus Bainbridge shares his birthday with my grandmother. March 9th, which is a special day for me. She was very much a Magus person.

* Also Magus was my first attempt at playing a non-bad male character. (Troy Kirkland was my first male.. he was.. interesting). I wanted to see if I could do it, and eventually everyone just fell in love with him and so I kept him around and his story wrote itself.

* Cedric shares my birthday, because I identify with Cedric the most strongly. Certainly I love all my male characters, but Cedric holds a vast ammount of charm to me.

* Bainbridges and their kooky gender changing ways. Well if you placed a gender switched Bainbridge in the same room with one Zeal, one human and one Bainbridge, both the Zeal and human would be like "Oh hi!" but the Bainbridge would know exactly -who- that Bainbridge is. Because all Bainbridges have a particular signature that tells exactly -who- they are that is only readable to other Bainbridges. Which is probably why when a Bainbridge sees Schala in her male form, they think "Schala!" while Janus just thinks "Pretty!" (Zeals are kinda dumb.. really they are) If they did not have that particular signature cloaking from everyone else, they would never be able to hide from Zeals.

* Why yes, Vampires -do- exist in Sylvia. And we have the Ethos whacked out genetic experimentation to thank for that. (Thank you Enigma!). You do not catch them far north, but once you get to Millenia City and Trinity, you -will- find them.

* Magus has a cat named Dora... except she's not really a cat, anymore. Dora was whacking around one of Magus's expirementation beakers in his laboratory and accidentally got something on herself, the effects was that she's actually a really cute girl with cat mannerisms. She just choose never to turn back into a cat because it was too much fun being a 'person' and she actually takes care of his house when he's away.

* Valdora once had an acadamy of Magic, however once Schala escaped from it and ran off with his brother, Janus. it's own headmaster, torched it in a fit of rage. Many lives of students were lost. Later Janus would commit bigger forms of Genocide (I.E Kyria) but well everyone had to start somewhere. The Valdora Acadamy of Magic was where Schala, Corrine, Kaoru and Violetta went to school, they were all roommates... and they were the four that originally started the story of Sylvia.

* Aidan took Home Ec at Ethos, it is because he said it got him all the dates. One of those things you wouldn't expect him to do, but he can make a MEAN APPLE PIE! And souffles.. that's child play to him.

* Sometimes I am a bit appalled at all the incest that goes on in the Bainbridge and Zeal clans. But to be fair Bainbridges are WAY more interested in outsiders then Zeals are.

* Sylvia has a theme song that isn't a Duran Duran song. It is an instrumental by Depeche Mode entitled "Nothing to Fear"

OKAY I AM DONE FOR RIGHT NOW. THere are more facts out there, but I'm bored right now and so this will just be it.

Title: Memories (Part 2)
Fandom: My own (Sylvia)
Pairing: Cedric/Roana
Song: "Memories" by Within Temptation
Comment: Yes people, the continuation of Cedric's story which will start twining with Aidan's. Because Cedric's story also reflects a -little- bit of Aidan's story. The thing with my storytelling is that it is like a tapestry effect, and Cedric I remember was created to give Aidan a little bit more backstory when I played him in the Valley of the Lunar Rainbow, but then Cedric just weaved his way through Aidan's past and deepened it considerably, made a part of Aidan's story his own. Oh yes, have I mentioned that "HOLY BATSHIT, THIS IS LONG" Yes, you have been warned. Upon writing this fic, I remembered exactly HOW much I hated Danzil.. it's amazing how you can hate things that come out of your own head. I don't even hate JANUS that much (in fact I'm kinda amused by him).

The memories ease the pain inside.. now I know why )

Title: This is not Enough (Part 1)
fandom: My own (Sylvia)
Character/Pairing: Cedric/Roana
Comments: This ran through my head on the way back from makinac island, and it was either that or an Aidan fic.. and really Aidan's past is so dysfunctional that I really do not want to concentrate on that for the most part. Oh wait, Cedric's past is just as dysfunctional. Though at different periods of their lives. I once upon a time wrote a fic for Cedric based on this song, but I quickly decided that I wanted to do another one, one that was a little bit more eloquent, really around 6 years ago, my writings lacked a little bit of clarity. (okay so they lacked -alot- of Clarity) Once again, Cedric rarely asks for these things so when he does ask I usually give in to him because it's easier and he's a precious.

This is not enough )

-Maybe Tomorrow

Title: Maybe Tomorrow
Pairing/Characters: Aidan, Cedric/Roana
Fandom: None, this is completely original. Mostly Sylvia-based.
Rating: N/A
Comments: I was listening to "Maybe Tomorrow", the theme song for Xenosaga III in the car and it just sort of touched both Aidan and Cedric. The three characters referenced back are all my creations, including Roana Raziel-Demitrius. (even though very briefly Roana was played by Mel for a pre-cursor RP.. she was never brought back, she's very much dead). I have always been a big fan of Aidan and Cedric, and when I create some of the Sylvia novels, I just know that there are going to be people who are going to 'ship' Cedric/Aidan, so I'm gearing myself up for it. (even though I'm much more fan of their father-son-totally-platonic relationship.) Just like we know there will be people who are going to ship Shay/Aidan which is going to make both myself and [info]firesea lol big time. Cedric also has a special place in my heart and perhaps he will find someone new, he's one of those characters that don't need it, but if it did happen, I am quite sure that Roana would wish him all the love in the world. (And Cedric is one of those characters that just deserve to be happy.. even though he is by all accounts and purposes very happy) Enjoy the ficcage.

Like you did, like my mother and father did.. I will cry a little bit and wait for tomorrow )
